Team IBM Launches at McKinley Middle
February 18, 2016 —Baton Rouge, LA - Today Team IBM took on their 3rd classroom in the STEMup BR multisession mentoring program! Congrats to this wonderful and enthusiastic group of volunteers! IBM is now volunteering at Mckinley Middle School in Mrs. Cartwright's 7th grade science class. The team will be leading a lesson on runoff and pollution, and how to better design cities through environmental engineering. For the first lesson today, the students constructed towers (and condos) to help provide shelter for animals. The students did this with notecards, tape, and scissors. The designs were all great and unique! Next session, the team will begin leading the lesson on how to better design cities to prevent runoff. Another successful day!
